As we celebrate Wildflower’s June birthday, the women's health landscape looks almost unrecognizable. It now honors the full spectrum of how healthcare intersects with women’s lives: The unique social and emotional dimensions, the conditions that manifest differently by gender, the prevention and treatment approaches that must account for bodies and experiences that have historically been underrepresented in research.
Maternity care today is no longer a straightforward path from pregnancy to delivery. It's a complex, team-based journey that spans mental health screenings, social determinants of health (SDOH) interventions, remote monitoring, and extended postpartum support. Unbundling is the decomposition of a single payment. Starting in early 2027, the traditional global codes are being retired. In their place, the industry is moving toward service-level, encounter-based billing.
The industry has acknowledged a universal truth: Women are the Chief Healthcare Officers of their homes. They make 80% of all healthcare decisions, managing the well-being of partners, children, and aging parents alike. Yet, despite this influence, health systems have historically struggled to build a robust business case for a truly coordinated women’s health model. It was often viewed as a "nice-to-have" specialty rather than a core strategic engine. Until now.
Despite decades of reform, digitization, and billions of dollars invested in innovation, outcomes continue to lag. So the uncomfortable question keeps surfacing: How have we funded all this innovation—and still ended up here? Progress in healthcare doesn’t arrive as a single breakthrough moment. It comes from a thousand points of light—incremental advances, often invisible on their own, slowly reshaping how care is delivered and experienced.
In today's digital landscape, the security of sensitive information is non-negotiable. At Wildflower, the security of protected health information (PHI) and proprietary data is a top priority. To ensure we meet and exceed industry standards, we maintain two of the most stringent and respected security certifications. We're in conversation with Wildflower’s security, compliance and data leaders, unpacking Wildflower's commitment to data security with HITRUST and SOC 2.
